THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY TO ALL PGA OF ONTARIO PLAYING ABILITY TESTS
WITHDRAWING FROM THE PLAYING ABILITY TEST
Players withdrawing from a round for medical/injury reasons only will be required to produce a doctor’s certificate.
NO QUIT RULE Applicants that quit at any time during a Playing Ability Test will NOT be permitted to play the following Playing Ability Test. Medical withdrawals will require a doctor’s certificate.
TEE TIMES Report to starter at your tee 5 minutes before your starting time ready to play golf

CADDIE GUIDELINES
- Caddies will be permitted to wear shorts (tailored with zipper – shorts 4 inches above knees) No denim, cutoffs or cargo shorts/pants. It is the players responsibility to advise caddies of dress code. Caddies will not be permitted to wear golf shoes
- Adhere to etiquette guidelines of the competition and host course
- Caddies are not permitted in the official scoring area
- Cannot participate in any communications on behalf of the player with the rules officials or event staff
- Must ensure that their actions do not disrupt the play of his/her player and the other participants in the group
- Caddies will be permitted to ride in the cart of his/her player
SPECTATORS
- Must remain off the tees, fairways and greens at all times – follow groups in the rough only
- Must ensure that their actions do not disrupt the play of his/her player and the other participants in the group
- Adhere to the dress code of the host course
- Are not permitted in the designated scoring area
- Cannot ride in the cart with the designated group marker
THE USE OF CONTRABAND SUBSTANCES AND THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL DURING COMPETITION: The use of contraband substances and the consumption of alcohol during the course of play of a PGA of Ontario Tournament event is strictly prohibited. Any player found in breach of this rule will be deemed to have conducted themselves in a manner unbecoming of a Member of our Association and will face a penalty set forth by the Tournament Committee
MEASURING DEVICES
A player may obtain distance information by using a device that: MEASURES DISTANCE ONLY
However, if a distance measuring device has additional functionality that can gauge or measure other conditions that might affect a player’s play (e.g. elevation change, wind speed, etc.), the use of any such additional function would be a breach of Rule 4.3a.
ELECTRONIC AUDIO OR VIDEO DEVICES
During a round, a player must not listen to or watch content of any nature on a personal audio or video device. Rule 4.3
Penalty for Breach of Rule 4.3
- Penalty for first breach from single act or related acts: Two Strokes
- Penalty for second breach unrelated to first breach: Disqualification
PASSING THE PLAYING-ABILITY TEST - SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS
Upon successful completion of your Playing-Ability Test you will receive a communication from the PGA of Canada regarding next steps.
