2026 TOURNAMENT CRITERIA (100 PLAYER FIELD)
We are excited to announce the criteria for the 5th Annual GolfBC GROUP BC Women’s Open, set to be staged at the world-renowned Nicklaus North Golf Course in Whistler, BC.
The 2026 GolfBC GROUP BC Women’s Open is a professional golf championship for both Amateurs and Professionals scheduled for June 11-13th at Nicklaus North (Whistler) and will serve as the first of three sanctioned Championships on Golf Canada’s SHE PLAYS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES.
The 2026 GolfBC GROUP BC Women’s Open offers two championships:
A 54-HOLE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP (June 11-13th)
(Pros & Amateurs 5.0 & less)
o Open to female Professionals and Amateurs with handicap index of 5.0 & less.
o Offering a $60,000 CAD purse for a field of 60 players*.
o The winner of the 2026 GolfBC GROUP BC Women’s Open earns an exemption to play in the 2026 CPKC Women’s Open on the LPGA Tour, set for Aug.19-23rd at the ROYAL MAYAIR GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB in Edmonton, Alberta.
o The top player at the end of the 2026 She Plays Golf Championship Series will also qualify for the 2026 CPKC Women’s Open (if not already qualified)
o The 54-hole Championship will carry official WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking) points.
A 36-HOLE AMATEUR FLIGHTED CHAMPIONSHIP (June 11-12th)
(5.1 to 26.0 index)
o Open to Senior Amateurs (55+years) & golfers with a handicap index of 5.1 to 26.0.
o The max field for this event is 40 players.
REGISTRATION DATES
Registration opens for both events on Friday, March 27th, 2026.
The Tournament Committee will begin approving registrations at such a time and begin processing entry fees on March 27th for those players with priority consideration.
The final field will be set on MAY 30th, 2026.
EVENT DETAILS
54-HOLE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
The 54-Hole Championship is scheduled on June 11-13th and is OPEN for Professionals and Amateurs (5.0 or less) with a full field of 60 players (and a cap of 30% international players). Invitees are selected based on their competitive record in major events and World Amateur Ranking per the below criteria.
The Invitational Committee reserves the right to select one Sponsor invitation in each division (Professional and Amateur) as well as determine the final division field sizes to maximize the overall strength of the field.
There will be a cut after 36-holes to the top 25 players and ties.
PRIORITY CONSIDERATION
Applicants from the following criteria listed below are given priority consideration until April 25th, 2026:
Professional
• Canadians ranked in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings
• Top 10 professional finishers at the 2025 GolfBC GROUP BC Women’s Open
• Top 5 professional finishers at the 2025 ORORO PGA Women’s Championship of Canada
• Top 5 finishers at the 2025 Glencoe Invitational
• Active Epson, LET and LPGA Members
• Canadians playing WAPT, Cactus and NXXT Women’s Pro Tours in 2024/2025/2026 or Stage 1 of 2025 LPGA and Epson Tour Qualifying Tournament players
• 2025 CPKC Women’s Open Monday qualifiers or exempt players
• Past GolfBC GROUP Women’s Open Champions (’22, ’23, ’24 and ‘25)
Amateur
• Top 30 Canadians on WAGR (as of March 1ST, 2026)
• 2024 and 2025 BC Women's Amateur Champion
• 2024 and 2025 Alberta Women’s Amateur Champion
• Canadians in the Top 10 in the 2025 Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship
• Top 5 Amateur finishers at the 2025 GolfBC GROUP BC Women’s Open
• Past BC Women’s Open Amateur Champions (’22, ’23, ’24,‘25)
• Team Canada and NextGen team members
If the field is not full with priority listed individuals by the end of the day on April 25th, 2026, players that have pre-registered (that are not on the priority consideration list) will be admitted into the field in priority of their WAGR rank and golf resume. The tournament committee will review all applications in order to maximize the overall strength of the field.
36-HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP (5.1 to 26.0 index & Senior Championship)
The 36-Hole Flighted Championship is scheduled on June 11 & 12th at Nicklaus North Whistler and is open to Senior Amateurs (55+) and female amateurs with hdcp. of 5.1 to 26.0. The full field is 40 golfers.
Priority entry will be given to 2024 & 2025 BC Women’s Open competitors and until April 25th, 2025.
ENTRY FEES
Amateur Entry Fees
• 36-Hole Event Amateur entry Fee: $350 plus GST ($367.50).
• 54-Hole Event Amateur entry fee: $425 plus GST ($446.25).
Professional Entry Fees
• PGA of Canada & Carded Professionals: $550 plus GST ($577.50).
• Non-Carded Professionals: $650 plus GST ($682.50)
No requests for refunds will be accepted after May 30th, 2026 (unless special consideration is granted by the Tournament committee. Special consideration will be given if a player registers for the BC Women’s Open and subsequently qualifies for an LPGA or Epson Tour event on the same week as the BC Women’s Open, this player will be granted a full refund.
There is a $100+GST admin fee for processing any withdrawals after May 30th, and up until June 2nd. After June 2nd, any withdrawals will be subject to a full loss of entry.
Q: Can I still register if I do not meet any of the priority consideration requirements?
YES. Players who do not meet any of the requirements for priority consideration are encouraged to register as early as possible using the registration link on the main tournament page which will be open on March 27, 2026.
If the field is not full by April 25th with players with priority considerations, we will fill the field based on WAGR rank and player resumes (54-Hole event), and all remaining players on pending list for the 36-hole event.
The final field for both events will be set on May 30th, 2026.
International players (permanent home residence outside Canada) are welcome to apply.
The Tournament Player subcommittee will review all applications in order to maximize the overall strength of the field.

PARTICIPATION INCLUDES
- For Elite Amateurs (5.0 & less) & Professionals, up to three competition rounds at Nicklaus North Whistler.
- Following 36 holes of stroke play there will be a cut to the low 25 players and ties for the final 18 holes.
- For Senior Amateurs & Handicap 5.1 to 26.0, guaranteed two competitive rounds at Nicklaus North Whistler on June 11th & 12th.
- Amateur competitors receive a special practice round rate of $75+tx on June 9th or 10th.
- Players are expected to pay for their practice round upon arrival to the pro-shop.
- Professionals are offered one complimentary practice round on June 9th or 10th.
