WHAT'S AT STAKE?

This is the coveted TPGL Year-End Tour Championship. The winner after 72 holes will be officially crowned the new TPGL Champion of the 2018 season and will carry that honor into the 2019 season.

ELIGIBILITY

The tournament is open to all 2018 dues-paying members of the TPGL who have  qualified in at least one of the four following competitions:

  • Head to Head – TPGL players compete in 8 head to head matches against players in their own flight. The competition is net stroke play. The top 5 players (the best W-L-T records) from each of the 3 flights are awarded a playoff spot. There is no minimum round requirement for this category.
  • Net Average - every round a TPGL member plays counts towards the net average competition. Excluding head to head qualifiers, the low 8 players gain a playoff spot.  There is a 16 round minimum requirement for this category.
  • MAJOR Events – there are 5 TPGL majors during the season: the Masters, US Open, The Open. The Lake Geneva Open and the 2-Man Championship. Excluding head to head and net average qualifiers, the top 4 money winners of the 4 Majors combined - as defined by merchandise credit - are awarded playoff spots.  There is a 16 round minimum requirement for this category.
  • BLOODY Sunday - As a final way to making the TPGL playoffs, the last Sunday of the regular season is reserved for an 18 hole net stroke play competition for players who did not qualify via head to head, net average or the majors. One player – the low net score of the day – wins the final 32nd spot of the playoffs.  There is a 16 round minimum requirement for this category.

Should conditions not permit, the TPGL reserves the right to alter the playoff format. All other ties - places 3rd through 10th - will be determined by the USGA matching score card method.  First, matching cards is used to determine the winner on the basis of the best net score for the last nine holes. If the tying players have the same net score for the last nine, then we review the last six holes.  If still tied, we review the last 3 holes. And, if tied again, we review the 18th hole.

RAINOUT

In the event of inclement weather and one of the four rounds is cancelled, the event will be reduced to a 54 hole event .  In the event that two rounds are cancelled due to inclement weather, the event will be reduced to a 36 hole event.  There is no provision for a rain-out date.
