  • Don’t move, talk, or stand close while a player is making a stroke.
  • Don’t stand directly behind, or in the direct sight line of a player putting. (This is an obvious courtesy, but could result in a penalty in some instances by the rules of golf )
  • Don’t stand directly behind a player teeing off or playing a stroke.​
  • Repair divots and ball marks (fix yours +1 or more) on greens.
  • Rake sand traps and repair fairway divots.
  • Mark and identify your golf ball on the first tee and whenever a different ball is put in play.
  • Don’t drop flagstick on the green, and replace them carefully in an upright position.
  • Mark scorecards at the following tee box, not at the green; check scores with players prior to marking.
  • Mark scorecards legibly; all players with scores on the card must sign or initial.
  • For any event, be prepared to play at the earliest tee time.
  • Watch your ball and identify a landmark where the ball will finish to speed-up locating your ball.
  • Assist other players in watching their ball so that it can be located more quickly.
  • Be prepared to change YOUR routine if your group falls behind the pace of play even if you feel that YOU are not the cause.
  • Players should ensure that any electronic device taken onto the course does not distract other players.
  • The head of a club should not be used to remove a ball from the hole.
  • Don't file police reports, throw pencils, or abuse porta-potties
