About the TPGL
More than just 1 day events or a skins/cash game . . .
A PGA tour-like competitive structure amd tradition unlike any other amateur tour
Similar to the PGA Tour FedEx Cup, the primary focus of the TPGL season is a year-long series of different formal competitions and tournaments where players are competing for playoff spots that earn them the right to play in the year-end TOUR championship. Net stroke play scoring allows for fair and equitable competition across all players and competition categories.
2019 COMPETITION CATEGORIES
HEAD TO HEAD
TPGL players compete in 8 head to head matches against players in their own flight. The competition is net stroke play. The top players ( best W-L-T records) from each of the 3 flights are awarded a playoff spot.
THE MAJORS
In 2019, there are 9 net stroke play majors during the season including the Masters, U.S. Open, The Open and two 2-Man championships. The top money winners of the 9 Majors combined - as defined by merchandise credit - are awarded playoff spots. See 2019 schedule for listing of the 9 majors.
NET AVERAGE
Every round a TPGL members plays counts towards the net stroke average competition. The players with the best net average also gain a playoff spot. In addition, the player with the lowest net average score for the year will win the coveted TPGL Vardon Trophy - a recognition for a player's ability to consistently score to his handicap or better throughout the season.

TPGL YEAR-END TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP
The year-end TOUR Championship is a 72 hole net stroke play event where the qualifiers from each competition categtory compete for the title and the winner is crowned the TPGL Champion of the Year. The number of qualifiers for the year-end championship is dependent on the total number of TPGL members. In 2018 with a membership headcount of 48 players, there were a total of 32 spots available for qualifying: 18 qualifiers from the head to head competition, 9 qualifiers from the net average competition, 4 players from the money list (aka the majors), and 1 qualifier from the Blood Sunday competition.
PAYOUT STRUCTURE:
Roughly $8,000 in gift merchandise cards are awarded to the top finishers in the head to head competition, the nine majors, the net average, and the year-end tour championship.
2019 TOUR SCHEDULE
The 2019 season offers members 64 competitive TPGL rounds at 17 different golf courses. You pick the dates, tournaments and golf courses that your schedule will allow. Play in as many or few events as you would like.
TPGL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
At the end of the 2019 season, there is a reward and recognition for Player of the Year which will be determined by how many points a player earns during the season. In each of the 64 TPGL competitive round, points will be awarded to the top 15 finishers based on net average score. Points for a given day will be allocated based on a player's net score for that day - i.e., low score of the day receives the highest points, second low score of the day receives the second highest points, etc. The more rounds a players elects to play during the year and the lower their score relative to the field, the more points a player can earn.
The 2019 TPGL schedule offers 64 competitive rounds - up from 53 rounds offered in 2018. The new 2019 schedule includes 2 Thursday rounds, 8 Fridays, 26 Saturdays, 26 Sundays and 2 Mondays.
